There are so many wonderful places throughout Milwaukee and Wisconsin to consider when choosing your session location.
Below you will find several location ideas separated into different geological areas. Feel free to review each area and let me know if you need any additional help deciding.
In-Home and Studio
In-Home Session
Your home could be the perfect location for a portrait session. It’s convenient, and then we’re able to document the place you make memories in day after day.
Studio Session
There are two spaces that Grace Creatives will regularly book to document photo sessions.
Each location has a mixture of solid backdrops and lifestyle spaces.
Additional rental cost;
~$100 for a weekday time
~$120 for a weekend time
Milwaukee and Downtown
Pabst Hill
Pabst Hill has a ton of historic charm, cobblestones and bright cream city brick. I also love this location because it’s not too busy.
Meet by the “Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery”
Third Ward Riverwalk
Downtown and cityscape views right along the Milwaukee River.
Meet at Broken Bat Restaurant.
Milwaukee Courthouse and Northwestern Mutual Steps
Stunning cream backdrops and beautiful landscaping. European-style doors and brass railings.
Lakeshore State Park
Great Combination of city-scape, nature, and lake views! However, it might not be the best location if there is a festival occurring at the Summerfest grounds.
Kadish Park and Lakefront Brewery
Stunning bridge down by the river and then walk up the hill to get long grasses and stunning scenery of the city.

South Shore Park
Lake and city views with a rock beach and a and sand beach.

The Lakeshore has a bright & clean backdrop with stunning views of the harbor, Milwaukee skyline, and the lake.

Lake Park
Large parking lot with close access to beautifully detailed iron railing bridges and stairs that look out to views of Lake Michigan.

Underwood Parkway / Forest Exploration Center - Wauwatosa
Long grasses, a small pond, and winding light stone pathways.
Meet at Forest Exploration Center
Hoyt Park - Wauwatosa
A variety of tree coverage. Beautiful old stone archway/bridge with winding pathways. Can get busy on the weekends.
Endicott Park - New Berlin
Long grasses along the bike path and a variety of evergreen and deciduous trees. Beautiful colors during the fall. A less busy location.

Chapman Park - Oconomowoc
Quiet area with sprawling spaces and pretty overgrown grasses and mature trees. There is a small pond and a few benches.
Mount Mary University - Wauwatosa
Easy parking and a great mixture of stone and cream city brick. Beautifully kept grounds as well.
Use the Menomonee River Parkway entrance.
Mitchell Park Domes - Milwaukee
Temperature-controlled and open year-round. $70/hour permit required.
Calhoun Creek Prairie - New Berlin
Easy parking. Lots of evergreen trees and it resembles a Christmas tree farm. There are long grasses and pretty open views.

Lapham Peak / Ice Age Trail - Delafield
Beautiful space with winding trails and Lake Country views.
Hartung Park - Wauwatosa
This park has a tall hill with views of Wauwatosa and the Menomonee River Parkway. There are long grasses, light stone pathways and a small pond.
Retzer Nature Center - Waukesha
This nature center is beautiful! They have lots of nice trails, great views, and tall pines. There is a mixture of wildflowers throughout the summertime. Dogs are not allowed.

South
Boerner Botanical Gardens - Hales Corners
Beautiful botanical gardens with lots of different flowers and landscapes. There is a permit and entrance fee required. Can get crowded on the weekends.

Wehr Nature Center - Hales Corners
Stunning trails and cute little dock with water feature. Permit required.

Seven Bridges and Grant Beach - South Milwaukee
Great Mix of forest and lake. There are rustic bridges and water at the Seven Bridges meeting location and then beautiful beach access just south at the Grant Park Beach.

North
North Beach or South Beach - Port Washington
Can be quieter. Beautiful beach with the option to go to downtown Port Washington or Upper Lake Park for more for more trees and lake views.

Lime Kiln Park - Grafton
Historic charm and close to downtown Grafton or historic downtown Cedarburg. Creekside views as well.

Virmond Park - Mequon
Wooded park area and large staircase down to a secluded beach.

Destination
Devils Lake State Park
Beautiful views on top of the bluff (hiking needed) and option for lakeside portraits or swim session.
Kohler Andrae State Park
Beautiful white sand beaches, sandy dune trails and good mix of long grass open space and forest.
High Cliff State Park
Large quarry and stunning during the fall.
Ferry Bluff State Natural Area
Beautiful views overlooking the Wisconsin River.
